Anthology of Mythic Tales

Years ago I got an idea for a story. I wrote it out in a few days and found it to be a short story. It was based heavily in Greek mythology while still being in a modern setting. Apparently Greek gods fit quite well in a modern high school. Anyway, about a year or so ago I remembered it and was trying to figure out what to do with it. The idea came to me to put together an anthology of short stories relating to myths. I put out the request for short stories to my writing group and got three submissions, which is not enough.

So, I am putting the request out farther for submissions. I can’t afford to pay for the submissions unfortunately, but for all accepted submissions the author gets a free copy of the anthology. The author also retains all copyright to their work.

The stories should be five thousand words or less, using mythology (this can be Greek, Roman, Celtic, Native American, etc.), can use modern elements as long as it is still strong in mythology. I’m accepting submissions until October 31st, 2014. Though the deadline may be moved if not enough submissions come in. Submissions should be sent to mantlerpublishing@gmail.com. So, if you are interested please send in your submission.

I'm B. Heather Mantler. I have been a writer for most of my life, with my primary focus being novels. In 2010 I learned how to finish a book through NaNoWriMo and have since used NaNoWriMo sessions (November and Camp) to write my fantasy series The Kings of Proster. I also have three other novels out; Committed to Her Enemy, Chenarcor, Princess or Pirate, and A Thief In Search of a Baby. I've always got another book on the go. You can find me on Twitter under B.
